AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
AEO is optimising content to be the direct answer an "answer engine" returns — effectively a synonym for GEO.
The term predates GEO, evolving from voice-search optimisation around 2018, and is favoured by some tools and practitioners. In practice the tactics are the same: clear, well-structured, trustworthy content that a machine can extract.
Why it matters: Don't let the two acronyms confuse you — they describe one discipline.
